Authentic Miniature Paintings and
Small Works by Mona Diane Conner
This is looking fabulous Mona - I especially love the texture in the jacket and skirt - So small and so amazing!!!
Thanks Karen! You are one of those who are inspiring me to try more pencil portraits :-)!
Fantastic drawing!! I love her expression, and her cloth is so real. The baby girl looks familiar... Have you painted her before?
I agree, the fabric is great as well as the expressions. I love your range of values.
Beautiful Mona! When you use graphite, do you use the powder, stick or pencil form? I've only ever used the pencils, but I wonder if you get different effects with different forms.
Akiko, Barbara, and Deb, thank you! Akiko, I painted this baby once before at an older age.Deb, to answer your question, it's pencil, but since there are oil-based, charcoal and pastel pencils too, graphite just feels more descriptive of what kind of pencil.
Absolutely wonderful, Mona.
Tadada,And the baby is you!!!Gail Hayton
