Mona,
As usual just wonderful. Is there any medium you can't work in?

Karen, Tracy, Tatiana and Gail, thanks so much for your kind words of encouragement!

This was my third try. I had to wipe off two tries in egg tempera, because the hide glue wasn't staying put either, but so far it's going better with oil, and it's fun trying it on gold leaf and letting bits show through the paint.

Tracy, I hope you get to Giverny one day too. It was too early for roses and water lilies in April, but the Spring season is quite spectacular in it's own ways, and I was so grateful that my sister and Mom treated me to a day trip there!

This is just unbelievably beautiful! Can't believe it's only 2" in diameter. You are amazing, Mona!

Great call on choosing to work over the gold leaf Mona. The warm glow shows up even over the internet and I bet it's dazzling when you hold it in your hand and examine it.

Thanks Deb and Akiko, and Wes & Rachelle. The gleam from the gold leaf does indeed give it a jewel-like quality.

I am late following this, so but glad I was able to come back. I love what you are doing with this Mona. I wish I could see it in person. So much detail in such a tiny space!

Thanks for sharing your trials and difficulties. It's always good to see the struggles and the solutions of other artists. Also, I find it's much easier to be patient with your art than patient with your computer! :)
