Hand Painting a Frame Specifically for a Painting

"Hat Lady With Red Flowers" in the frame I hand-painted especially for this painting (scanned version)

(painted frame detail)

I wanted to show you how I finished off Hat Lady #1 by hand-painting this frame. Although a frame always becomes part of the finished artwork, I feel it is even more so in this instance an integral part, since it was hand-painted by me.

P.S. , have added a scan of the framed painting to the top of this post, since it shows more accurately the tone and color of the painting, while the camera shots offer more dimensional views of the frame.

Hi Mona, This looks luscious! The frame looks great, tying it all together. I love how everything jumps, so 3D! Another beauty!

Thanks Barbara! Believe it or not the frame took almost as long to paint as the painting, but glad to know the results are pleasing, and I liked how it came out also.
