"The Piano Recital, Mary's Turn," (in progress) 5 1/2" x 4 1/4", egg tempera on gessoed panel
Here is another update on my progress on the portrait of Mary. I've started working on the piano keys, and next, will zero in more on the beautiful dress she is wearing, which has a delicate pink floral pattern.

Mona, this one's a winner for sure. In my humble opinion, it's one of your best.
This one really touches me Mona. I teach piano and we will be starting on recital pieces next week. :-) I've been planning to do a piece similar to this of my granddaughter playing. I love paintings of children at the piano (for some strange reason!) As always, stunning work as well. I agree with Deb- this is one of my favorites.
Deb and Carol, thanks, hope I can do justice to Mary, who played so sweetly, as did all the children at this recital.
Carol, it must bring lots of joy to teach piano. I have a beautiful Knabe circa 1900 upright in my apt. that belonged to my Great Aunt Mamie, and I love to play it.
WOW, Mona!
Mona, this is stunning!! The piano is perfect. I love the reflection on her seat.
